Public Transport

Using the train and bus to get into and around Harrogate couldn’t be easier. Regular services connect the town to surrounding destinations and to the nearby cities of Leeds and York. Central bus and train stations mean that the town centre is easily accessible and it isn’t hard to find your way to shops, attractions, hotels, venues and restaurants in the town. Regular bus services also connect the town centre to the Great Yorkshire Showground and to the RHS Gardens at Harlow Carr.


Harrogate is served by two bus companies, TransDev and Connexions.

The 36 Transdev Service runs between Ripon, Harrogate and Leeds and leaves from Harrogate for Leeds every 15 minutes throughout the day on weekdays and Saturdays and every 30 minutes on Sundays and Bank Holidays. 36 buses provide a high level of comfort including leather seats and free wifi. Connexions buses, operated by Harrogate Coach Travel, cover a network of local services around Harrogate and Ripon and run regular buses to Boroughbridge, York, Otley and Ilkley.

Harrogate is served by three train stations at Starbeck, Harrogate town centre and Hornbeam Park.

For conference delegates, Harrogate Station provides easy access to the Harrogate International Centre and the town’s conference hotels.

Hornbeam Park Station on the south western side of town is a 10 minute walk from Harrogate Showground and offers a great way to visit the Great Yorkshire Show in the summer or the Harrogate Flower Shows in the spring and autumn.

At Harrogate Station you will find Northern Rails innovative Bike and Go scheme, so that when you’ve arrived by train you can continue your journey on a handy hire bike. Bike and Go

Northern Rail train services run between Leeds, Harrogate and York every half hour throughout the day and every hour on Sunday.
